Summary



Freeman’s Exhibit Solutions team is seeking a Director of Business Development who will lead a team of inside sales professionals, focused on the rental exhibit market. In this role, the Business Development Director will provide mentorship and daily guidance to team members, to ensure success of individuals and the team as a whole. The Director of Business Development will be responsible for achieving and/or exceeding team revenue goals, reporting key team metrics and adherence to booking guidelines.


This position will support our Exhibit Programs team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show site 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be based out of any of the following locations:


+ Dallas, TX

+ Chicago, IL

+ Las Vegas, NV

+ Alexandria, VA

+ Orlando, FL


Essential Duties & Responsibilities



• Effectively manages a large team funnel of opportunities, approximately $25M annually.

• Product focus, modular system rental exhibits.

• Sales Coaching (develop account plans, driving timelines, strategic selling, overcoming objections, product education).

• Identifies and addresses skill gaps with team members, providing opportunities for growth.

• Provides honest, appropriate feedback regarding performance on a regular, as needed basis.

• Monitors lead and opportunity volume for maximum effectiveness and hiring strategy.

• Creates a positive, inclusive team environment, focused on revenue growth.

• Prepares performance reports for leadership as needed.

• Proactively collaborates with other leaders and departments.

• Conducts hiring for team as needed.

• Conducts performance appraisals and regularly evaluates for merit and promotional increases.

• Oversee account and personnel succession planning for continue growth opportunities and moral.


Education & Experience



• Bachelor's Degree is preferred. High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience required.

• Minimum 5 years of sales management experience, including direct management of reports, within event marketing, exhibits, experiential, or agency environments.


• Proven capability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

• Proven track record of developing strong client relationships, and successfully closing business.

• Strong relationship building skills, resourceful networking abilities, confident presentation skills, and creative thinking.

• Ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple internal and external systems.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

• Workfront and/or SAP knowledge is a plus.

• Experience with—or willingness to learn—custom Salesforce instance.

• Demonstrate excellence in customer service with strong organizational skills.

• Strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a collaborative, team oriented mindset.

• Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.

• Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
