The Role

This Director-level positionis responsible forleadingambulatory access operations across multiple specialties, ensuring patients can efficiently enter and navigate the UVA Health system. You will work in afast-paced, highly matrixed environment, partnering closely with physicians, administrators, and operational leaders to drive measurable improvements.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Lead and developlayered teams, including managers, supervisors, and frontline leaders, fostering accountability and performance consistency

  • Oversee enterprise access functions such as:

  • Scheduling operations and template optimization

  • Referral management

  • Contact center performance

  • Capacity management and patient throughput

  • Usedata, analytics, and performance metricstoidentifygaps and implement scalable solutions that improve patient access and operational outcomes

  • Drivechange management initiativestied tonew technologies, workflows, and access strategies across multiple service lines

  • Collaborate withphysicians and senior leadershipto align operational priorities with clinical needs and system goals

  • Balance competing priorities across acomplex, multi-specialty portfolio, ensuring both local service line success and adherence to enterprise standards

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


Education: Master's degree required; a combination of relevant experience and education may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.

Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience, to include 4+ years of formal management experience.

Licensure: None.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

The starting base rate for this role is $91,329.00 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
