Director, Access Marketing

Location: Morristown, NJ (Hybrid – onsite 3 days/week)
Therapeutic Area: Hepatology
Reports To: Head of Market Access
Contractor role (3-4 months) with intent to transition to full-time engagement

About the Role

Seeking an experienced Director, Access Marketing, to support the launch and ongoing commercialization of its recently FDA-approved hepatology product. This role will be a key contributor to the Market Access strategy by developing and executing payer-focused value materials and access enablement tools that support pull-through across payer, hub, and field channels.

The ideal candidate brings deep pharmaceutical market access experience, thrives in a launch environment, and is comfortable translating access strategy into high-impact, field-ready materials. This role partners closely with Market Access leadership, payer field teams, Medical Affairs, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure compliant, compelling, and effective access communications.

Key Responsibilities

Access Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Support the Head of Market Access in the development and execution of the access marketing strategy for a newly approved product
  • Translate market access strategy into clear, compelling, and compliant payer value messaging
  • Lead development of access marketing assets that support reimbursement, access, and payer pull-through

Payer & Field Enablement

  • Develop payer-facing value proposition materials and slide decks for Payer Account Executives (PAEs)
  • Create executive-level summaries and content tailored for business-focused payer stakeholders
  • Create executive-level summaries and content tailored for clinical and pharmacy decision-makers
  • Partner closely with payer field teams to ensure materials are field-ready and aligned with real-world payer conversations

Patient Hub & Pull-Through Materials

  • Design and support development of materials for patient hub services and access pathways
  • Ensure consistency of messaging across payer, hub, and commercial touchpoints to reinforce access strategy

Medical, Legal, and Regulatory Collaboration

  • Lead access marketing materials through approved Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review processes
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs to ensure clinical accuracy and compliance of payer-facing materials

Launch Execution & Optimization

  • Manage access marketing execution during launch and early commercialization
  • Capture and assess field feedback to inform refinements and enhancements
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize materials to improve payer engagement and pull-through

30 / 60 / 90-Day Expectations

First 30–60 Days

  • Design and develop access marketing and payer enablement materials
  • Complete medical review and approval processes
  • Deploy finalized materials to payer field teams for use

By 90 Days

  • Manage access marketing execution through launch
  • Reassess materials based on payer response and field feedback
  • Implement updates and optimizations as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience in Market Access, Access Marketing, Payer Marketing, or Reimbursement Strategy
  • Strong understanding of payer dynamics and value proposition development
  • Launch experience with a recently FDA-approved product
  • Experience supporting payer field teams or account executives
  • Therapeutic experience in hepatology, liver disease, or specialty pharmaceuticals
  • Familiarity with payer value frameworks and access pathways
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed environment
  • Strong communication, project management, and execution skills
  • Ability to work onsite in Morristown, NJ, three days per week

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA, MPH, MS, or related field)
