Cal Hope Services is seeking dependable, compassionate, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our growing Supported Living Services program. We provide high-quality, person-centered support to adults with developmental disabilities so they can live safely, independently, and with dignity in their own homes and communities.


We are looking for team members who genuinely care about people, communicate well, and can work respectfully in someone’s home environment.


Position Summary


The DSP supports individuals with daily living activities, community participation, emotional support, health and safety, and skill-building goals. This role is hands-on, meaningful, and essential to the well-being of the people we serve.


Responsibilities


  • Assist with daily living activities (meal prep, light cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, etc.)

  • Support clients during community outings, appointments, and errands.

  • Provide companionship, emotional support, and skill-building assistance.

  • Follow the client’s Individual Support Plan (ISP) and agency policies.

  • Maintain safety and awareness throughout the shift.

  • Provide accurate medication reminders (non-medical)

  • Complete documentation clearly and on time

  • Maintain professional boundaries and strict confidentiality (HIPAA compliant)

  • Report concerns or behavioral changes to management

  • Take paid meal breaks while remaining in view of the client (as required by agency protocol)

Requirements


  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Valid driver’s license preferred

  • Reliable transportation

  • Ability to pass a DOJ/FBI Live Scan background check

  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain

  • Ability to safely lift or support up to 25 lbs

  • Strong communication skills, patience, and professionalism

  • Experience as DSP, caregiver, CNA, PCA, or similar (preferred but not required)

Schedule
