Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Dower Personnel Services LLC is currently seeking compassionate, dependable, and professional Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within residential group home settings throughout Maryland.
This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, behaviorally aware, safety-focused, and passionate about supporting others in maintaining independence, structure, and quality of life.
Position Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing direct behavioral support and supervision
- Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Supporting community integration and engagement
- Maintaining a safe and structured environment
- Assisting with medication administration as delegated
- Transporting clients to approved appointments and community activities
- Completing required documentation and incident reporting
- Following individualized care plans and behavioral support strategies
Client Population
Staff will primarily support individuals with:
- Intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Behavioral support needs
- Residential supervision requirements
Most assignments are within residential group home settings and require professionalism, sound judgment, consistency, and strong communication skills.
Documentation Responsibilities
DSPs are expected to maintain accurate and timely documentation, including:
- Daily progress notes
- Incident reports
- Medication documentation
- Behavioral or goal tracking documentation as assigned
Qualifications
Preferred candidates may have experience in:
- Residential/group home settings
- Behavioral support
- Developmental disabilities (DDA)
- Medication administration
- Community-based support services
MANDT or similar behavioral intervention training is highly desirable.
Requirements
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass required background screening
- Reliable transportation
- Professional communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
Shift Availability
Available shifts may include:
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend extended shifts
Shift availability may vary based on assignment needs.

Compensation
