Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential group home setting. DSPs play a critical role in promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life while ensuring health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and supervision to individuals in a group home and/or 1:1 setting
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation
- Support individuals with community outings, appointments, and recreational activities
- Implement Individual Support Plans (ISP) and behavior support strategies
- Provide 1:1 supervision and redirection when required to ensure safety and emotional regulation
- Administer or assist with medications per physician orders and agency policy
- Accurately document daily notes, incident reports, and progress notes
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive home environment
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and families
- Respond appropriately to behavioral challenges using approved techniques
Physical & Job Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist individuals as needed
- Ability to remain alert during shifts, including overnight shifts if applicable
- Ability to manage behaviors calmly and professionally
