Role Overview

Picture the start of your day: production targets are set, demand signals populate your MRP workbench, and a new product ramp is just around the corner. As our Direct Materials Procurement Planner, you turn this momentum into action—converting requirements into purchase orders, syncing with suppliers, and keeping lines running without interruption. You navigate moderately complex buying decisions with confidence, align stakeholders, and ensure the right parts arrive at the right time, every time.

What You’ll Do (Day-in-the-Life)

  • Translate MRP demand into timely purchasing actions—review requisitions, evaluate bids, and cut POs for direct materials and services.
  • Act as the central link between internal teams, suppliers, and customers to support both pre-production ramp-up and full-rate manufacturing.
  • Manage procurement for new product introductions and ongoing production, including last-time buys for end-of-life items.
  • Secure on-time delivery, balance inventory, and track purchase price variance to financial targets.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy, analyze gaps, and communicate findings to drive alignment.
  • Keep standard costs current for assigned parts and support quoting/sourcing to improve continuity and reduce total cost.
  • Troubleshoot shortages, allocations, and discrepancies; drive root cause and corrective actions.
  • Own supplier performance—conduct touchpoints, track results, and guide improvement plans where needed.
  • Report and act on key KPIs, including on-time delivery, PO acknowledgments, and past-due shipments.
  • Maintain audit readiness for ISO and internal audits, and help close any findings.
  • Advance continuous improvement efforts that strengthen data integrity and planning parameters.

What You Bring

  • 4–7 years purchasing experience in direct materials, ideally within manufacturing.
  • Hands-on with MRP and SAP.
  • Analytical strength using Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Clear grasp of procurement, inventory control, and supplier management best practices.
  • Self-directed, organized, and effective at juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator across internal and external partners.
  • Detail orientation, accuracy, and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Familiar with supply chain policies, procedures, and ISO standards.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Background in electronic manufacturing environments.

Role Details

  • Pay Rate: $36/hour
  • Location: On-site (Not Remote)
  • Schedule: 1st shift
  • Employment Type: Temp to hire
