DIRECT HIRE - Maintenance Manager

Located in Cleveland, OH

Pay: $118k to $148.5k with a 20% bonus eligibility

Job Full Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead plant maintenance and engineering operations. This role plays a critical part in plant leadership, ensuring equipment reliability, facility performance, and continuous improvement. The Maintenance Manager will oversee preventive and reactive maintenance, capital projects, and team development while maintaining a strong focus on safety and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating, setting up, and troubleshooting CNC lathes to produce precision components according to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and quality standards.

1st shift, but will be responsible for their team’s support across all 3 shifts and be on call 24/7


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Culture

  • Lead maintenance and engineering teams in daily operations
  • Foster a high-performance, safety-focused work environment
  • Ensure accountability, training, and development of team members
  • Build strong relationships across plant leadership, production teams, and staff

Maintenance & Operations

  • Oversee all preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Ensure timely completion of repairs to minimize downtime
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild plant equipment
  • Support facility improvements and new equipment installations
  • Provide technical leadership across mechanical and electrical systems

Planning & Project Management

  • Develop and manage annual maintenance and facilities operating plans
  • Lead capital expenditure (CapEx) planning and execution
  • Deliver disciplined project management for plant upgrades and improvements
  • Support engineering change requests (ECRs) for process and equipment improvements

Systems, Compliance & Safety

  • Manage work orders and maintenance schedules through CMMS systems
  • Utilize SAP for procurement, inventory management, and MRO tracking
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
  • Support ISO document management and quality systems
  • Serve as a member of the site emergency response team

Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
  • Identify and reduce downtime, waste, and inefficiencies
  • Promote safe work practices and eliminate risk of injury
  • Standardize processes and create SOPs where needed

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in maintenance or engineering
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and plant compliance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PLCs, AC/DC drives, or automated systems
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Background in capital equipment installation and upgrades
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or ISO systems
