Support Young Adults Building Independent Futures

Boys & Girls Haven is seeking a full-time Direct Care Professional to work within our Independent Living Program. This position supports young adults as they develop the practical skills, confidence, and self-sufficiency needed to successfully transition into adulthood.


Schedule:
2nd Shift Sunday -Thursday 2pm -10pm
May be assigned varied shifts within a twenty-four hour/seven-day-a-week schedule. Holidays, weekends, overtime, and rotating on-call responsibilities may be required.


In This Role, You Will:

  • Coach clients in budgeting, money management, meal planning, housekeeping, laundry, and time management
  • Support educational, employment, and vocational goals
  • Assist clients in accessing community resources and services
  • Provide guidance, accountability, and supervision while promoting increasing independence
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and support individual goals
  • Facilitate individual and group skill-building activities
  • Respond to emergencies and crisis situations appropriately
  • Utilize Safe Crisis Management (SCM) techniques as required
  • Transport clients to work, school, appointments, and approved activities
  • Complete documentation related to client progress, incidents, and program activities
  • Support apartment safety, cleanliness, and maintenance expectations

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field preferred
  • Experience working with at-risk adolescents or young adults preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Certification in SCM, CPR, and First Aid, or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
