Support Young Adults Building Independent Futures
Boys & Girls Haven is seeking a full-time Direct Care Professional to work within our Independent Living Program. This position supports young adults as they develop the practical skills, confidence, and self-sufficiency needed to successfully transition into adulthood.
Schedule: 2nd Shift Sunday -Thursday 2pm -10pm May be assigned varied shifts within a twenty-four hour/seven-day-a-week schedule. Holidays, weekends, overtime, and rotating on-call responsibilities may be required.
In This Role, You Will:
Coach clients in budgeting, money management, meal planning, housekeeping, laundry, and time management
Support educational, employment, and vocational goals
Assist clients in accessing community resources and services
Provide guidance, accountability, and supervision while promoting increasing independence
Participate in treatment team meetings and support individual goals
Facilitate individual and group skill-building activities
Respond to emergencies and crisis situations appropriately
Utilize Safe Crisis Management (SCM) techniques as required
Transport clients to work, school, appointments, and approved activities
Complete documentation related to client progress, incidents, and program activities
Support apartment safety, cleanliness, and maintenance expectations
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or GED required
Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field preferred
Experience working with at-risk adolescents or young adults preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Certification in SCM, CPR, and First Aid, or ability to obtain upon hire
Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
Must be at least 21 years of age
