Our client, a Energy Services company, is looking for a Materials - Buyer - Direct – Intermediate for their Austin, TX location.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Requires in-depth knowledge and experience. Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services. Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions. Works independently, receives minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • The expense buyer plays a pivotal role on the frontline of NPI supply chain operations responsible for expeditious prototype procurement. Buyer primary objective is to provide tactical procurement support to R&D engineering teams to complete proof of concept of new design validation accelerating time to market. Solves a range of internal and external supplier problems varying in complexity in a fast-paced environment. Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction. Leads purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels.
  • Leads problem resolution for material related accounting and receiving issues.
  • Develops methods of business simplification for the procurement function. Participates in the development of ISO documents for the purchasing function.
  • Manages activities of the purchasing group in the manager’s absence. Manages projects for purchasing; as required, monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned projects. Oversees workload distribution among Buyers; trains and audits activities of lower level personnel. Some travel visiting suppliers for performance management.
