General Responsibilities:  Coordinates with the Central Kitchen to provide services to participants of the Congregate Dining program.  Works closely with the Community Nutrition Program Manager and host site staff to meet the program needs.

1. Help prepare the site for delivery of food from the Central Kitchen.
2. Setting up food stations, greet participants, and provide a welcoming environment.
3. Maintain appropriate food temperatures, portioning and presentation standards during the dining experience.
4. Follow procedures for proper handling of food and equipment.
5. Maintain accurate records and submit monthly reports timely and as required.
6. Follow proper cleaning and sanitizing guidelines throughout the dining experience. Clean and sanitize eating, service, and dining areas as needed and at the end of each day. 
7. Provide support for programs taking place during dining program.
8. Provide work direction to volunteers as needed.
9. Delivers Home Delivered or Carry Out Meals if required.
10. May provide services at other dining locations as needed
11. Attend monthly Nutrition and mandatory agency-wide meetings as required.

6. Ability to represent the Agency in a professional manner.
7. Must be able to adjust priorities to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
8. Ability to meet department standards regarding job knowledge, participant focus, initiative, productivity, communication, teamwork, and attendance.
 
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completion of a ServSafe Food Handler Course through the Michigan Restaurant Association within 6 months of employment is required.
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment physical
 
Working Conditions:
- The working environment is based in a food service environment where safe work practices are extremely important. 
- Use of protective gear such as hats, aprons and gloves are required.     
- Physical mobility is required for sitting, walking, bending, and standing.

- Must be physically able to carry and lift between 40-70 pounds

- Must be able to communicate effectively with participants, volunteers, co-workers, and vendors in person and over the phone. 
- Sensory requirements include exposure to warming units, kitchen utensils and cleaning compounds
- Mental requirements include the ability to handle varying and intense levels of stress.
