Job Description
The Dining Services Worker supports the College's Globe Café, Joppa Hall Café, TUNE Café, APGFCU Arena concessions, and College catering as needed. Tasks include preparing food upon request, acting as cashier when required, and performing other related duties.
As a condition of employment, this position requires participation in a Maryland State Retirement System plan.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.
Required Education
High school diploma or GED.
Required Experience
No prior experience required; training will be provided for entry-level candidates. Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to provide excellent customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to operate point of sale system, handle cash and credit card transactions.
Serve Safe or Food Handler and/or Sanitation Certification
Food service preparation experience
Hours per Week 20 General Weekly Work Schedule
Daytime hours range between 7 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday. Schedule also includes evening and weekend hours based on event schedules.
September to December; and February to May
Work schedules may vary based upon the needs of the college.
