PGS Worldwide is seeking a Dimension Control Technician in Palmdale, CA for a one-year contract role supporting Northrop Grumman.

The Dimension Control Technician will support the Tooling department by laying out, fabricating, assembling, checking, and verifying major jigs, fixtures, tool masters, master tooling gauges, and related tooling. This role requires strong hands-on experience with tooling, fabrication, layout, alignment, precision measurement, and exacting tolerance work in an onsite aerospace manufacturing environment.

Required Skills

  • 5–10 years of related tooling, fabrication, assembly, or dimension control experience.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Experience laying out, fabricating, and assembling jigs, fixtures, tooling gauges, tool masters, or related tooling.
  • Ability to work with compound angles, complex contours, tooling holes, reference points, and multiple planes to exacting tolerances.
  • Ability to work from tool design drawings, shop drawings, or self-developed designs.
  • Ability to plan work, determine methods, and sequence operations.
  • Ability to set up and operate optical instruments to check alignment, fit, and adjustment of assemblies.
  • Ability to develop or design holding devices, jig details, or fixture details.
  • Ability to prepare operational sequences and shop drawings for parts fabrication and assembly.
  • Ability to support quality verification in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Preferred Skills

  • Aerospace tooling experience.
  • Experience with major jigs, fixtures, tool masters, master tooling gauges, and related aircraft tooling.
  • Machine shop, fabrication, jig, fixture, gauge, optical alignment, or precision layout experience.
  • Experience supporting aircraft tooling, tool design drawings, shop-floor fabrication, alignment, and inspection activities.

What You’ll Do

  • Lay out, fabricate, and assemble standard and nonstandard jigs, fixtures, tool masters, master tooling gauges, and related tooling.
  • Establish and coordinate tooling holes and reference points to precise tolerances.
  • Work from tool design drawings or create working methods and designs as needed.
  • Set up and operate optical instruments to verify alignment, fit, and adjustment.
  • Develop holding devices and jig/fixture details.
  • Prepare operational sequences and shop drawings for fabrication and assembly work.
  • Monitor and verify quality using statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Support onsite tooling operations in Palmdale.

Work Schedule / Shift

  • 4x10 schedule, Monday–Thursday.
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Onsite role.

Pay

  • $39.59/hour
  • Per diem may be paid in accordance with GSA rates for the work location and managed through Concur.
