Position Title: Digital Marketing Specialist

Department: Office of Marketing

Reports To: Vice President for Marketing and Enrollment

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary

Under the supervision of the Vice President the Digital Marketing Specialist will develop, manage and execute social and digital media strategies that support enrollment, enhance the student experience, and position the College as a community asset while ensuring alignment of institutional mission, values, branding and outcomes in all media initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create content for William Jewell's social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and LinkedIn that enhances social engagement of target constituents across all platforms.
  • Create compelling, creative and action-oriented digital content focused on student accomplishments and experiences, faculty and staff work, and alumni success to ensure and enhance engagement of target constituents in communication workflows, communication campaigns, internal marketing and special events.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute a social media editorial calendar including mediums, content themes and target markets, while providing performance metrics.
  • Conduct research and seek approval for innovative and relevant digital media initiatives.
  • Select student workers and interns and manage their day-to-day assignments.
  • Assist with website content updates and print materials as appropriate.
  • Assist with development and execution of marketing campaigns for departments and programs.
  • Assist with oversight of freelance vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytic ability, creativity, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro and editing software
  • Proficiency in photography and videography a plus

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree, supplemented with at least two years of social and digital media management, marketing and project management

Working Conditions

  • Some nights and weekend required. Must be able to work in outdoor environments when needed. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
