Digital Innovation Division (DID) is accountable for generating and executing integrated strategies, providing governance, and managing internal investments associated with four technical pillars that form the foundation of Aerospace's digital transformation. The Digital Innovation Division is seeking a dynamic systems engineer to join our team. This critical role will help establish and maintain targeted levels of engineering rigor across our newly formed division. This position also offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of digital engineering capabilities at Aerospace. Work Model: 100% onsite or hybrid; Chantilly, Colorado Springs, El Segundo, Huntsville. What You'll Be Doing Help instill technical discipline across the newly established DID. This includes the stand up of new engineering forums and processes that seek to balance engineering rigor with rapid capability deployment as well as encouraging the adoption of various SE best practices among team members where appropriate. Support requirements management. Create, solicit, validate, model, trace, and prioritize capability-level requirements across DID. Ensure capability-level requirements are decomposed and allocated to DID pillars and that dependencies are understood. Once requirements are baselined and assigned, track progress and conduct verification as needed. Support schedule management. Ensure that all DID projects have executable schedules and trace back to requirements. Devise an integrated master schedule that incorporates all projects and allows the team to identify and understand dependencies so that schedule executability can be routinely assessed and monitored. Support configuration management. Devise and help execute a configuration management governance structure and process that allows for recording and tracking of the DID technical baseline as well as managing any changes to it on an ongoing basis. Support financial management. Monitor budget and actual costs incurred across DID and recommend adjustments (e.g., reallocations and reprioritizations) as needed to ensure balanced execution of DID resources across the portfolio of projects. Ensure that unfunded requirements are captured, tracked, prioritized, and presented to leadership on a timely basis. Assist with the communication of programmatic status to leadership. Help create and brief cost, schedule, and performance status at periodic program management reviews to the DID General Manager and other senior Aerospace leaders. Support outreach activities. Engage with Aerospace and government customers to understand their needs and help them gain awareness of how DID can assist them. What You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in STEM or other technical discipline 6 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including multi-disciplinary systems engineering and/or program management environments. Strong organizational skills to effectively prioritize demands from many different sources Excellent interpersonal skills, with a knack for fostering collaboration and working relationships across multiple constituencies, both internal and external to Aerospace Effective communication skills, to include the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely Problem-solving aptitude Position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is ssued by the US government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
