POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining digital assets that support JEA's digital platforms, including web, email, and mobile applications, under the direction of the Manager of Digital Platforms.
The role also supports project execution by defining scope, conducting research, making recommendations, and establishing goals and timelines. It collaborates closely with marketing and communications, developers, and other internal partners to manage projects and deliver effective solutions.
In addition, this position plays a key role in the creative process by developing and presenting thoughtful, well-executed design solutions that align with project objectives. The Digital Communications Specialist works within content management systems (CMS) and other marketing tools to manage web content and functionality, build campaigns, and partners with the communications team to ensure all content is accurate, high-quality, and ready for deployment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
" Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, and Design team to enhance the customer experience on JEA's digital platforms
" Maintain high standards for web best practices, including ADA compliance
" Manage and update website content using the CMS
" Design web layouts that support content to achieve communication objectives
" Establish and maintain processes, guidelines, and publishing schedules to ensure content remains current and relevant
" Ensure consistency, quality, and brand alignment across web content by following brand guidelines and applying UX/UI best practices
" Monitor, analyze, and report on website and email performance using Google Analytics to inform optimization
" Design and build responsive email campaigns using established templates
" Conduct thorough QA testing to ensure compatibility across email clients and browsers, validating links, images, subject lines, and audience segments prior to deployment
" Troubleshoot rendering and delivery issues across platforms
" Manage email campaign calendars, workflows, and deployment schedules
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
" Knowledge of and hands-on experience with front-end web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Adobe XD; understanding of responsive and adaptive design principles
" Strong skills in design, layout, typography, image editing, and color correction
" Knowledge of digital accessibility standards, including ADA compliance, TCPA and CAN-SPAM laws
" Demonstrated experience managing and maintaining web content within a content management system (CMS)
" Understanding of website development processes, including site architecture, usability, and collaboration with designers, developers, product managers, and agencies
" Knowledge of A/B testing, search engine optimization (SEO), and web analytics
" Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and other design and graphics software
" Ability to analyze data and translate insights into strategic recommendations
" Strong customer service orientation with experience in a project management environment
" Understanding of UX/UI design principles and digital best practices
" Ability to design and deliver intuitive, visually compelling digital experiences and user interfaces
" Ability to develop prototypes and mockups efficiently
" Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and utilize project management tools
" Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and make sound business decisions

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in digital media, graphic design, communications, journalism or closely related field is required.
AND
Experience: Three (3) years of experience designing and developing digital assets across web, email, and mobile platforms
OR
An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
