About the Role

Our client is seeking a Digital Design Engineer to support the design, development, verification, and integration of advanced digital electronic systems. This role will focus on FPGA development, circuit card design, system simulation, and hardware verification for mission-critical defense applications. The ideal candidate will have experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams and supporting the complete hardware development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design digital electronic hardware including FPGA-based solutions and circuit card assemblies
  • Define, develop, verify, and document digital hardware designs
  • Determine system architecture, simulation approaches, and detailed design methodologies
  • Define module interfaces and support all aspects of device design and simulation
  • Perform FPGA synthesis, place and route, timing analysis, and power utilization analysis
  • Develop test plans and simulation strategies to validate design requirements
  • Verify and validate designs through testing on target hardware platforms
  • Support system integration activities with Systems and Software Engineering teams
  • Lead interdisciplinary design efforts and technical reviews
  • Analyze and update existing designs to support new requirements and functionality
  • Support embedded processor and System-on-Chip (SoC) FPGA designs
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with FPGA development and digital circuit design
  • Knowledge of all phases of circuit card design and development
  • Experience with system simulation, verification, and validation processes
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex engineering assignments
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering disciplines
  • Experience with embedded processors and SoC FPGA architectures preferred
  • Embedded programming experience is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Clearance Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required
