The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced news environment, collaborates seamlessly with anchors, reporters, producers, and digital editors, and understands how to connect with online audiences in meaningful ways to create engaging content tailored for web, social media, and streaming audiences.Roles & Responsibilities:Capture, edit, and publish timely, engaging content for all digital platforms (website, app, social).Work alongside newsroom staff to adapt on-air stories for digital audiences and create original digital-only coverage.Experiment with creative storytelling formats-short-form video, live streaming, interactive content-to reach new viewers.Maintain brand consistency while embracing platform-specific tone and style.Collaborate closely with reporters, anchors, and the digital team to identify and develop stories tailored for digital audiences.Produce platform-optimized videos, graphics, and written content that go beyond what's aired on TV.Support audience growth and retention by creating shareable, compelling content designed for social media and our website.Qualifications:Proven experience in digital content production, journalism, or broadcastingComfortable appearing on camera in live or recorded formatsStrong storytelling, writing, and script-editing skillsProficient with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro), graphic tools (e.g., Canva, Photoshop), and content management systemsDeep understanding of current digital trends, social media algorithms, and audience engagement techniquesExcellent communication and teamwork skillsAbility to thrive under deadline pressure and juggle multiple prioritiesRelated military experience will be consideredPreferred:Experience in a newsroom or media environmentKnowledge of SEO, AP Style, and digital publishing best practicesFamiliarity with livestreaming tools and platforms (e.g., Streamyard, OBS)Diversity StatementAt Hearst Television we tell stories every day.
