This position is for someone who understands news and storytelling, with a passion for serving our viewers and readers with stories that matter to them.
This full-time position will be based in our Chicago newsroom. Hours may vary.
Position Description
- Create stories that maintain our high standards of journalism and differentiate our brand from our competitors
- Create or clip videos that help viewers and readers understand what matters in news stories
- Craft compelling headlines, push alerts and social posts while delivering stories that make a difference
- Edit wire and local network-affiliated content for a national audience to ensure standards for journalistic integrity and production quality are met
- Showcase broadcast segments for publishing across all digital platforms and social media channels
- Utilize SEO best practices
Qualifications
- 3+ years working in news as a digital reporter or producer.
- Strong news judgement and ability to determine when local stories have national appeal
- Experience working with video and social media
- Excellent communicator, both oral and written
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, advertising or marketing or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000
