⭐⭐⭐ Digital Bindery Supervisor ⭐⭐⭐
Pay Rate: $26–$32/hour; Based on experience
Location: Albany, NY (On-site)
Our client is seeking an experienced Digital Bindery Supervisor in Albany, NY, to lead day-to-day operations within a fast-paced finishing department. This role is responsible for overseeing personnel, managing workflow, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining equipment to support efficient production and high customer satisfaction.
• Supervise bindery personnel and daily production activities to ensure quality, accuracy, and on-time job completion
• Review production schedules and job requirements with leadership and customer service teams
• Assign tasks, provide direction, and monitor workflow throughout the shift
• Perform and document first-piece inspections to ensure compliance with job specifications
• Control material waste, spoilage, and downtime while driving continuous improvement efforts
• Coordinate workflow between prepress, press, mailing, logistics, and other departments
• Ensure proper job routing, staging, and communication across teams
• Oversee maintenance and performance of bindery equipment; recommend improvements as needed
• Collaborate with inventory and procurement teams to maintain adequate supply levels
• Assist with staffing needs, including coordinating temporary labor when necessary
• Support estimating and process planning as needed
• Train, mentor, and develop staff on equipment use and best practices
• Enforce safety standards and company policies consistently
• Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and finishing methods
• Prior supervisory or leadership experiencein a bindery or print finishing environment required
• Strong knowledge of bindery operations including folding, trimming, stitching, drilling, and assembly
• Experience with bindery equipment (e.g., folders, cutters, stitchers) preferred
• Ability to read and interpret job tickets, specifications, and quality requirements
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, OneDrive)
• Familiarity with production or workflow systems is a plus
• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
