Registered Dietitian for fast-paced clinic that houses med onc and specialty providers like Gastroenterology & Urology, supporting 12-13 providers across specialties. Cancer diagnoses, especially lung, GI, and breast. Collaborative: physicians love to teach and work closely with NN and MAs, very team-focused. 8-10 pt per day in outpatient setting with occasional inpatient (general MS floor and new stem cell/BMT unit) coverage when inpatient dietitian is unavailable or during on-call. Inpatient census of 25-28 daily average with 5-7 inpatient consults per day.
1 year experience required, 2-3 preferred. EPIC documentation. Eggplant scrubs (not provided). 40 hours orientation (more as needed). Rotating on call required, up to every other weekend. On call shifts are computer/phone based (remote).
Dietitians are responsible for assessing patients nutritional status and intervening with appropriate medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and/or education to improve, maintain, or optimize nutritional status. Dietitians will formulate and implement nutritional care plans based on assessment of patients nutritional needs, diet restrictions, nutrition support and physician care plans. Each RD will be able to manage a minimum of 12 patients daily. Monitor and evaluates effectiveness of patients care plan. Document thoroughly and appropriately all nutrition care information in patient medical record. Counsel and educate on nutritional support and nutritional management to patients and their families, physicians, paraprofessionals, the community and potential candidates for hire within the corporation. Collaborate with medical staff, nursing, pharmacy, and other hospital stakeholders to plan and implement patient care as necessary in meeting the nutritional needs of patients. Monitor foodservice operations to ensure compliance with physician diet orders and quality standards. Integrate food and dietetic services into the hospital wide QAPI and infection control programs. Responsible for clinical nutrition and nutrition support in coordination with the use of Telemedicine and the use of other nutritional services for patient care needs internally and externally as designated by COH.
