Join our team and lead the heart of our nursing home — the kitchen! We're looking for an energetic, organized, hands-on Dietary Manager who is passionate about great food, teamwork, and resident satisfaction. ️
Schedule: Hours will fluctuate between 5:00 AM - 8:30 PM based on department needs.
Pay is based upon Experience.
What You'll Do:
Oversee daily operations of the Dietary Department
Direct and assist with food prep and meal service
Ensure meals are safe, appetizing, and meet resident dietary needs
Process diet orders, changes, allergies, and food preferences
Plan holiday meals, special events, and functions
Hire, train, coach, schedule, and supervise dietary staff
Manage budgets, food costs, supplies, and department records
Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment
️ Monitor food temperatures and compliance standards
Coordinate with Nursing, Activities, and Dietician teams
Lead training, staff meetings, and in-services
Participate in QA and IDT meetings to ensure top quality care
What We're Looking For:
️ Must possess, at minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent
️ Graduate of an approved Dietary Manager course that meets state and federal care regulations
️ One year of experience in a long-term care facility dietary department preferred
️ Leadership experience in dietary/food service
️ Strong communication and organization skills
️ Knowledge of sanitation, food safety, and healthcare dietary standards
️ Compassion for serving seniors and residents

General Purpose
The Dietary Director oversees all aspects of the dietary department, including meal planning, food preparation, and service delivery. This role ensures that meals are safe, nutritious, and tailored to meet each resident's individual needs in accordance with physician orders, approved menus, and regulatory standards. The director manages staff, maintains budget compliance, and coordinates with other departments to support resident well-being and satisfaction.
