Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Diet Clerk, you will prepare dietary information for use by kitchen personnel in preparation of foods for hospital patients.
Responsibilities
As a Diet Clerk, you will:
• Examine diet orders and menus received from hospital units and prepare tallies of specific foods to be prepared in the kitchen. • Process new diets and changes as required. • Generate and edit tray tickets, assemble tray ticket packets, and enter data into computer. • Modify diets following standards established by Dietitian. • Answer telephone calls and relay information concerning meal changes, complaints, or patient discharge to Supervisor or Dietitian. • Prepare and deliver formulas and special nourishments to unit pantries. • Work Traylinetray accuracy as required for timely and accurate patient service.
Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent supplemented by course work in nutrition. • 2 years of experience in food service operations. • Experience and education may be substituted for one another. • Computer experience preferred. • Food Handlers permit or must obtain during the first two weeks of hire date.
