Diesel Truck Mechanic

As a Mobile Technician II, you perform intermediate-level maintenance and repairs on J.B. Hunt tractors, trailers, chassis, containers and power equipment. This is a field-based role, servicing tractor-trailer equipment at customer sites and rail yards using a mobile service truck in the Charlotte area.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Perform preventive maintenance and intermediate repairs (tires, brakes, electrical, structural), including chassis and frame repairs, patching trailer and container panels and roofs
• 
  
• Inspect equipment and document damage for repair estimates and complete associated work orders with proper repair documentation
• 
  
• Perform AA trailer and FHWA brake inspections
• 
  
• Diagnose and repair ABS systems
• 
  
• Operate and maintain mobile service truck and inventory
•

Qualifications:

• 
  
• Candidates must be at least 18 years old
• 
  
• At least 2 years of hands-on mechanic experience servicing semi-trucks and/or trailers or military equivalent
• 
  
• Clean motor vehicle record
• 
  
• Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through J.B. Hunt purchasing program
• 
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• 
  
• DOT certifications in FHWA inspections and air brakes
• 
  
• Welding certification
• 
  
• Forklift certification and experience
• 
  
• EPA Section 608 certification and refrigeration license
•
