What Youll Do Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment. Service repair adjust and test all mobile equipment that operates throughout the plant in order to maximize performance and limit downtime. Inspect Equipment and Material. Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors. Perform repairs to address problems when necessary. Handle and Move Objects. Handle install position and move parts materials and industrial hand tools in a safe manner throughout the shop and plant. Document and Record Information. Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed on a daily and monthly basis regarding all mobile equipment. Enter and maintain service reports for all the mobile equipment in written or electronic form. Operate Equipment. Assist in driving heavy equipment and vehicles throughout the plant when necessary in order to ensure production continues in an efficient manner. Perform General Physical Activities. Perform physical activities that require moving your whole body and considerable use of your arms and legs such as climbing lifting balancing walking stooping and handling materials. Previous Maintenance and Welding experience working on Industrial or heavy construction equipment referred to as Yellow Iron Must be familiar with CAT Empire Vermeer Volvo Deere Komatsu and other similar companies. Knowledge of Best Practices. Must demonstrate knowledge of best practices related to using electric gas arc or other welding equipment. General knowledge of the occupational hazards involved in welding is preferred. Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is a MUST. Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises. Mechanical Skills. Must have knowledge of industrial tools their uses and maintenance.
