What you'll be doing:
Perform heavy and minor repairs on all semi-tractors and pneumatic and oil tanker trailersMaintain shop cleanliness and parts inventoryUtilize computer-based diagnostic systems, skills, knowledge, and experience to determine what repairs need to be done and whether it's a warranty issueOccasional tire workImplement a thorough preventative maintenance program for a fleet of tractors and trailers (crude and pneumatic), including: fueling, greasing, changing oil and other fluids,s and inspecting trucks for needed repairsAccurately record work performed in our Manager Plus computer programEnsure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirementsFollow proper safety rules, maintenance, and operating proceduresAssist with writing and revising maintenance procedures as needed
Requirements to be successful in this position:
1 to 2 years of Diesel Mechanic Experience is a plusExperience with a variety of trucks is a plusExperience with crude and pneumatic trailers is a plusConfidence in repairing suspensions, rear ends, transmissions, air brake systems, minor engine work (injectors, turbos, etc.), and moreAn expert in identifying and diagnosing needed repairs by computer-based systems, being able to visually recognize problems is a big plusClass A CDL a plus, but not requiredBe able to read, write, and understand English and follow written and/or verbal instructionsKnowledge and experience using computerized maintenance programsEffective interfacing with internal leadership, direct reports, external vendors, and other team membersSelf-starter capable of working independently, in line with company goals, strategies, and policies
