We are seeking an experienced Diesel Shop Technician to provide on-call roadside and shop support for Class 7 & 8 commercial vehicles. This role is responsible for responding to breakdowns, diagnosing issues, and performing safe, efficient repairs in the field and in the shop when needed.
This position is ideal for a technician who prefers flexible shop hours, enjoys problem-solving under pressure, and is comfortable working independently.
Respond to on-call service requests for disabled commercial vehicles
Perform roadside repairs including:
Air system failures
Electrical issues
Cooling system leaks
Fuel system problems
Tire service and light mechanical repairs
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems on Class 7 & 8 trucks
Safely operate service trucks, tools, and diagnostic equipment
Accurately document work performed, parts used, and photos using a company-issued tablet
Communicate clearly with dispatch, customers, and management
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of service vehicle and tools
Follow all company safety procedures and DOT regulations
Must be available during assigned on-call shifts
Typical response time: 60–90 minutes from dispatch
Jobs may range from quick roadside repairs to towing coordination and shop follow-ups
2+ year's of experience working on Class 7 & 8 trucks (roadside or shop)
Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Valid driver’s license (CDL-A preferred but not required)
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions
Reliable transportation and strong attendance
CDL-A
