Job Overview & Essential Functions Murphy-Hoffman Company LLC is North Americas largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow we have an opening for a Diesel Service Technician Mechanic. The role of the Diesel Service Technician Mechanic performs heavy-duty mechanical repair under general supervision receiving on the job training in a development program to achieve Service Journeyman status. Performs andor assists in the performance of general mechanical duties. Gains experience by working on the following items with minimal supervision engine overhaul fuel systems electrical systems transmissions cooling systems chassis brakes engine tune-up and general maintenance. Works on major components with close supervision. Performs trouble shooting on minor problems. Attends training sessions and meetings. Maintains a neat and orderly working area and proper handling of company tools. Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary. Follows safe work practices and procedures uses safety equipment when required responds to suggestions for working safely and seeks assistance when necessary. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. SAFETY-SENSITIVE This position has been designated as a safety-sensitive position. Any person performing the position while under the influence of marijuana or any other illegal drug may constitute a threat to health or safety or in which a lapse of attention could result in injury illness or death including without limitation a position that includes the operating repairing maintaining or monitoring of heavy equipment machinery aircraft motorized watercraft or motor vehicles or handling of hazardous materials andor waste as part of the job duties.
Qualifications CDL preferred. Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses. AC Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required. Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
