What You’ll Be Doing

Advanced Diagnostics & Repairs

Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, PTOs, pumps, and vacuum/blower systems
Perform root cause troubleshooting, not just component replacement
Ensure all units meet DOT compliance standards prior to rental
Manage and resolve complex mechanical issues across the fleet

Fleet Management & Oversight

Own PM schedules, inspections, and fleet readiness
Review and approve Check-In / Check-Out inspections
Assess and document damage, repair scope, and timelines
Maintain accurate records in Fleetio or equivalent systems

Shop Leadership & Planning

Support execution of the Plan of the Day / Plan of the Week
Adjust priorities based on fleet demand and downtime needs
Identify training gaps and provide guidance to technicians
Assist in maintaining shop standards and workflow efficiency

Parts, Tools & Cost Management

Manage parts inventory and proactively order materials
Balance repair quality, speed, and cost efficiency
Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and used properly

Safety & Compliance (Safety-Sensitive Role)

Operate vehicles in full compliance with DOT and federal regulations
Maintain valid CDL and DOT medical certification
Conduct DOT inspections and ensure documentation accuracy
Enforce and model all safety procedures and policies

Customer & Operations Support

Provide equipment training to customers and team members
Support field or delivery needs when required
Represent the company professionally in all interactions

What We’re Looking For

5–10+ years of diesel / heavy equipment experience
Strong background in hydraulics, PTO systems, and advanced diagnostics
Experience with vacuum trucks, pumps, or similar equipment preferred
CDL required
Ability to work independently and lead when needed

Why This Role Stands Out

Work on specialized equipment (vac/hydro systems) — not repetitive fleet work
High-impact role directly tied to fleet uptime and performance
Backed by a growing, PE-supported platform with long-term stability
Opportunity to step into lead mechanic or shop leadership roles
