    Description

    We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic with 5-7 years of hands-on experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of diesel engines, heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and fleet maintenance operations.  This is a Full Time opportunity including OT when appropriate.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other fleet equipment.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, brake systems, suspension, HVAC, and other vehicle components.
    • Accurately complete repair orders (ROs), document repairs, and maintain maintenance history using the company's fleet management software.
    • Work independently to prioritize repairs while minimizing equipment downtime.
    • Respond to roadside service calls throughout Southern Massachusetts and Cape Cod when required.
    • Assist with snow plowing, maintenance, and repairs.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
    • Work collaboratively with fellow mechanics, drivers, vendors, and management to keep the fleet operating safely and efficiently
    • Conduct DOT inspections and ensure vehicles meet all federal and state safety regulations.
    • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company standards.

      Qualifications & Requirements

      • 5 years of diesel mechanic experience required
      • Valid Class A CDL preferred. Candidates willing to obtain a Class A CDL are encouraged to apply. In-house CDL training is provided.
      • Candidates must have a clean, valid driver’s license and be physically qualified to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Certificate.
      • Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
      • Experience with preventative maintenance programs and fleet management.
      • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, heavy-duty trucks, and trailer repair.
      • High attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
      • Ability to work independently and as a team
      • Flexibility to work weekends during peak operational months

      Physical Demands & Work Environment

      • Frequent standing, walking, bending and reaching throughout the shift
      • Occasional climbing of stairs or stepping onto/off equipment
      • Work is primarily performed in a fully equipped mechanic shop.
      • Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions and within warehouse environments as needed.
      • Frequent walking on concrete floors and around moving equipment and vehicles
      • PPE may be required depending on task and area of the warehouse

      Travel

      Occasional travel may be required to support other company locations, training, fleet operations, or special projects.
