Diesel Mechanic

Brumfield Construction, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Diesel Mechanic/ HeavyEquipmentMechanic to join our team. This position will be located at our Aberdeen Shop location – 2007 Westport Road Aberdeen, WA 98520.

Our ideal candidate has 5 or more years of experience diagnosing & repairing trucks and equipment in the field or shop.  They can stoop, bend, and reach to use tools for repairs.  This job may operate outside in inclement weather and requires attention to detail.

We have been in business for over 40 years and are locally owned and operated. Although based in Grays Harbor, our projects span over several counties in Western WA.  We provide both commercial and residential services across several industries.

     Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyzing and diagnosing (troubleshooting) equipment malfunctions or failures.
• Performing preventative maintenance tasks on all makes and models of heavy equipment.
• Repairing, replacing and/or rebuilding engines, transmissions, final drives, steering, clutches, hydraulic components, electrical systems, and air systems.
• Welding and fabrication as required.
• Determining correct parts needed to complete the task and order in a timely matter.
• Communicating in an effective manner regarding all aspects of the work being performed.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience.
• Must have own tools.
• Must possess valid WA driver’s license – CDL is a plus.
• Must be able to take and follow directions.
• Occasionally lift 50 lbs.
• Must be dependable, honest, hard-working and a team player.
