Sparta Networking is supporting a leading construction and heavy equipment company in hiring an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Equipment. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who can step in, troubleshoot efficiently, and keep critical equipment running safely and reliably in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines on construction equipment and vehicles
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Coordinate with operators and supervisors to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate service records and complete repair documentation
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety standards
- Manage and organize parts inventory as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic in construction, heavy equipment, or industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Ability to diagnose issues and complete repairs efficiently
- Experience with heavy machinery, trucks, and fleet maintenance preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime when needed
Work Environment
- Physically demanding role, including lifting up to 60 lbs
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, noise, grease, and heavy machinery
- Use of PPE required at all times
