Diesel Bus Technician

Diesel Mechanic position in Kankakee, IL, working Monday-Friday 1st shift, paying $25-$35/hour (higher with engine certifications).

• Servicing gasoline and diesel buses, performing maintenance, minor repairs, and full vehicle servicing.
• Diagnosing mechanical issues and conducting preventive maintenance.
• Overhauling engines and transmissions, servicing brakes, air systems, fuel, HVAC, and wheelchair lifts.
• Maintaining vehicle air conditioning units and inspecting school buses per DOT standards.
• Keeping detailed records of work performed.

  Requirements include medium duty bus experience (preferably International), own tools, knowledge of transportation laws, CDL B with air brake endorsement (preferred), and A/C certification. Strong communication, ability to work independently, and physical ability to lift 50 lbs are essential. Must maintain punctual attendance and perform job functions safely.
