Promotive is hiring an experienced Diesel A Level / Foreman Technician for a busy, well-equipped shop in Lincoln, RI. This position is ideal for a technician who thrives in advanced diagnostics, enjoys supporting other technicians, and takes pride in fixing vehicles correctly the first time. You'll work on a variety of diesel-powered vehicles while helping maintain quality, productivity, and efficiency throughout the shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diesel diagnostics and repair on light-, medium-, and heavy-duty diesel vehicles.
- Troubleshoot complex engine performance, electrical, drivability, emissions, and aftertreatment system concerns.
- Diagnose and repair Cummins, Duramax, Powerstroke, Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar, and other major diesel platforms.
- Oversee shop workflow and assist technicians with technical support and diagnostic guidance.
- Mentor and train technicians while promoting quality workmanship and efficiency.
- Perform brake, suspension, steering, drivetrain, and powertrain repairs.
- Complete preventive maintenance services and trailer repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and ensure repairs meet high-quality standards.
- Support a clean, organized, and professional shop environment.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of diesel technician experience required.
- Prior experience as a Lead Technician, Shop Foreman, or informal team leader preferred.
- Strong diesel diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience working on light-, medium-, and heavy-duty diesel vehicles.
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, emissions systems, electrical systems, and drivability diagnostics.
- Ability to mentor technicians and provide technical leadership.
- Proficiency with diagnostic software, scan tools, and modern repair technology.
- ASE certifications are a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must own professional-grade tools.
