Your impact
- Cold press powdered metal diamond segments to exact specifications for downstream blade/bit manufacturing.
- Keep operations compliant, safe, and efficient while meeting production targets.
Core responsibilities
- Prepare tooling: measure height and verify parallelism; assemble die parts in the cold press.
- Set up and fine‑tune machine parameters; remove and inspect dies at changeover or completion.
- Organize and select the proper tooling for each work order; maintain familiarity with manufacturing equipment operation.
- Clean equipment to ready it for subsequent orders.
- Perform in‑process quality checks using a micrometer (height, length, thickness) and confirm weight with a precision electronic balance.
- Document quality checks and order completion details; collaborate with Quality Control on inspection techniques and standards.
- Follow company policies to ensure compliance with EPA/environmental requirements and OSHA Safety and Health Regulations throughout the cold pressing process.
Schedule
- Second shift: Monday–Friday, 2:30–11:00 p.m.
- Occasional overtime and some Saturdays.
Qualifications
- Previous experience preferred.
- Strong basic math ability.
- Working knowledge of industrial math and the metric system; exposure to diamond tool design elements is helpful.
- Proficiency with micrometers and precision balances.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 30 lbs.; occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.; occasionally push/pull up to 15 lbs.
