This position leads a team of Registered Dietitians, Diet Technicians, and other staff to support all INTEGRIS Health facilities across the state of Oklahoma. This position is responsible for team accountability to achieve departmental and organizational goals and ensuring that care is delivered to our patients with the highest level of quality, accuracy, and safety. The System Clinical Nutrition Manager provides administrative oversight and support of patient clinical nutrition at all designated facilities. Establishes and assures implementation of policies and procedures and assures delivery of quality nutrition services and patient/customer satisfaction. Oversees budgetary and staffing functions to achieve department objectives, cost controls and productivity targets. Responsible for directing and managing all administrative aspects of the clinical nutrition program and ensuring compliance with all pertinent rules and regulations local medical review boards, Joint Commission, CMS, DOH, and other regulatory agencies. Ensures that all applicable policies related to clinical nutrition oversight are written, approved, in place, monitored, and updated according to appropriate timeline to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements. Implements and oversees performance improvement program in collaboration with the System Executive Chef and System Food Services Director and works collaboratively at all levels of the organization to drive innovation, standardization, and process improvement.The qualifications for the position of System Clinical Nutrition Manager are as follows:Minimum Qualifications - Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Licensed by the State of Oklahoma Dietetics Licensing Board Bachelor's degree in nutrition or Dietetics, or related field Three years of hospital clinical nutrition experience as an RD Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary manner to provide comprehensive, patient-centered approach to nutrition care Effective communication skills at all levels of an organization Ability to travel as required 25% of duty timePreferred Qualifications - Master's degree in nutrition or Dietetics, or related field Five years of hospital clinical nutrition experience as an RD / Two years of experience as an acute care RD Three or more years of experience within Clinical Nutrition Management in a healthcare facility/setting ServSafe Manager certificationThe responsibilities of the Clinical Nutrition Manager include, but are not limited to, the following: Directs the Clinical Nutrition Operations including supervising the activities of all staff levels, approves schedules according to department needs and budgeted hours, implements and maintains quality control procedures, provides customer service to patients and families, and demonstrates compliance with HIPPA standards. Supervises and directs the daily operations of Registered Dietitians, Diet Technicians, and other support staff under their supervision. Assigns, directs, and reviews the work of subordinates, work methods, procedures, workflow, and standards for quality and quantity of work. Ensure that relevant clinical references and resources (patient handouts, posters, posted notices, etc.) are current and available. Communicates regularly with physicians, nursing staff, other support staff, patients, and family members regarding patient care. Manages Registered Dietitian staffing and scheduling functions to achieve department objectives, cost effective staffing, and productivity targets. Responsible for the coordination of orientation and training of new Registered Dietitians and Dietetic intern programs. Ensures annual competency education is completed for Registered Dietitians. Reviews and coordinates continuing education opportunities for clinical teams. Conducts regular chart reviews. Mentors staff and identifies and addresses staff deficiencies. Address conduct and performance issues with Caregivers when necessary. Reports as requested to facility and system leadership on department and service line progress. Partner with the System Executive Chef and Clinical Nutrition team to ensure that all patient menus fit within the constraints of all diet types and that all nutritional requirements are met according to current standards. Maintain a thorough and robust working knowledge of diet types and specific restrictions related to all types of diets for INTEGRIS Health patients and understanding how to adjust patient menus to accommodate size, consistency, nutrients, flavors, and quantity to ensure nutritive value is maintained. Provide clinical nutrition leadership to the INTEGRIS Health system with particular focus on clinical nutrition standards, nutrition therapies, patient education, nutrition care plans, counseling, standardization, customer service, and exceptional patient experience. Establish short-term plans and long-term strategy for all clinical nutrition aspects of Food Services for INTEGRIS Health which align with and support the priorities of the Food Services Director, all of Support Services, and the broader organization. Oversee the training and development of clinical nutrition Caregivers at all INTEGRIS Health Food Services facilities and provides mentorship and guidance where appropriate and necessary. Cultivate positive relationships within the department as well as outside of Food Services to effectively lead all aspects of clinical nutrition across the organization. Support all aspects of Food Services operations across the system, utilizing industry expertise and personal experience to provide leadership and guidance to clinical nutrition team by appropriate means to ensure effective operations. Collaborate with facility Food Services Managers, local facility leaders, and executive leaders to implement projects and programs at the local level as well as system-wide initiatives - ensuring clear and effective communication pre-and post-implementation. Remain abreast of industry trends, dietary guidelines, and clinical nutrition innovations to continually improve INTEGRIS Health Food Services by making changes to operations, recommendations to leadership, developing plans for future adjustments. Provide oversight of nutritional assessments to ensure they meet regulations and are in accordance with clinical nutrition standards for the optimal nutritional therapy of patients. Ensures quality control through chart review, tracers, and policy review. Foster strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other partners to source high-quality products and ingredients to continually improve INTEGRIS Health offerings, improve budgetary position, promote sustainability initiatives, and constantly strive to exceed customer expectations. Ensure detailed and perpetual readiness for surveys and inspections by accrediting and regulatory agencies participating in Food Services' kitchen audit program. Plan, manage, and coordinate the development and deployment of processes and initiatives to maximize patient and customer experience, in alignment with Support Services strategies and the best practices in the areas of clinical nutrition and food safety. Support the Director of Food Services in the monitoring of KPIs for each facility and for the service line monthly as well as assisting facilities where necessary with return to green plans and corrective actions where required. Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and Key Process Standard Works (KPSWs) for areas of clinical nutrition responsibility. Hire, lead, direct, coach, train, evaluate performance, and provide developmental opportunities for clinical nutrition team. Collaborate with the medicine and nursing leadership to ensure appropriate, evidenced-based nutrition policies, processes, and practices are in place. Maintains active involvement with departmental/hospital committees as well as local, regional, and/or national professional organizations, as appropriate. Ensure that the diet manual utilized across the system is reviewed and approved/signed by the medical review board every five years. Plans, coordinates, and directs programs to support dietetic internships and other student educational programs.
