Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for a full-time Diagnostic Medical Sonography Instructor on the Melbourne Campus in Melbourne, Florida, starting August 2026. This is a tenure track position.
Salary & Benefit
The salary is $50,000. Full-time employees of Eastern Florida State College receive fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.
Position Concept Minimum Qualifications
The following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:
- Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution. Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution preferred.
- Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
- Active certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in the concentrations offered:Abdominal Extended and Obstetrics & Gynecology.Any of the following additional certifications are preferred: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), and Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-Adult Cardiac Sonographer (AE), and Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer (PE)).
- Minimum of two years full-time professional experience as a general sonographer, cardiac
- Have documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance and in educational theories and techniques.
- Documentation of experience in education theories and techniques may include completed college courses, seminars, or in-service sessions on topics including, but not limited to, learning theory, curriculum design, test construction, teaching methodology, or assessment techniques.
- Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator's license required.
- This position will require successful substance screening. The candidate chosen will be required to pay the associated fee (currently $65.15). The substance screening fee ($65.15) is non-refundable.

- Official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office.
