SUMMARY

MD Anderson is seeking Diagnostic Imaging Services Coordinators to support our OSI Retrieval Center within the Patient Reception Services department. In this fast-paced, high-volume environment, you will serve as a central resource to faculty, technologists, clinical teams, and external partners to ensure smooth coordination of imaging services.

This role requires strong communication, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment. You will help facilitate patient scheduling, maintain operational workflows, support clinical staff, and contribute to an exceptional patient experience.

We 3 positions and two available shifts:
  • 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM


The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and Minimum 4 years of experience in a healthcare or medical environment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Procedural Scheduling for Multiple Imaging Modalities
  • Accurately perform scheduling duties within established timelines and standards.
  • Provide clear and accurate information regarding imaging schedules, procedure preparations, and available services.
  • Apply knowledge of imaging protocols, scheduling capacity, and workflow efficiencies to optimize daily operations.
  • Develop, maintain, and modify scheduling templates to support resource utilization.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure timely and accurate workflow processing.
  • Ensure receipt of schedules from grant-funded sites to prevent scheduling errors.
  • Monitor, assess, and adjust daily operations for optimal efficiency.

Patient Care Coordination & Communication
  • Assist patients with financial inquiries or direct them to the appropriate department.
  • Support resolution of unread imaging exams when needed.
  • Manage the flow of information among referring physicians, radiologists, and staff; follow up promptly to resolve issues.
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient documentation.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally via phone, email, paging systems, and during routine or urgent scenarios.
  • Ensure patient-centered communication across all interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Customer Service & Operational Efficiency
  • Answer calls in accordance with team standards while demonstrating MD Anderson's core values.
  • Provide professional, courteous service to patients, staff, and visitors at all times.
  • Offer direction, support, and training to internal and external staff.
  • Demonstrate understanding of medical terminology relevant to imaging operations.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant work environment in alignment with Joint Commission and institutional guidelines.
  • Communicate updates regarding policies, procedures, and operational changes.
  • Multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, in-services, and required education programs.
  • Utilize RIS, StatusBoards, and other relevant software applications to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintain and order office or medical supplies as needed.

EDUCATION
  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Business Administration.

WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Required: 4 years Relevant work experience to include two years in a healthcare or medical environment. or
  • Required: 2 years In a health care setting with preferred education and experience in oncology.
  • : May substitute additional education for required experience on a one to one basis.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
