DFM Drafter and Quality Control Specialist — AutoCAD + SolidWorks

Your mission

Own both sides of the product lifecycle: produce precise CAD documentation and verify that first articles and finished items meet the standard.

You will

Design & Documentation

• Create and revise 2D/3D models and drawing packages in AutoCAD and SolidWorks (GA, manufacturing, and installation).
• Translate engineering sketches, specifications, and design inputs into clear, buildable documentation.
• Develop BOMs, consider tolerances, and select materials aligned with codes, safety guidelines, and company requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, and production to confirm technical feasibility and accuracy.

Quality Assurance / Quality Control

• Inspect first articles and completed products to confirm adherence to drawings and specifications.
• Execute QC checks on fabricated and purchased components.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to verify conformance with design requirements.
• Capture quality findings, recommend corrective actions, and track closure.
• Assist with design reviews, testing protocols, and bid evaluations.

Project Coordination

• Maintain calculations, drawings, specifications, and equipment lists.
• Join technical discussions and problem-solving sessions to drive outcomes.
• Support project management through tracking systems and project checklists.
• Prepare comprehensive operations and maintenance manuals for final handoff.

What sets you up for success

• 5+ years’ experience in drafting/design using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, CAD, or a related technical discipline.
• Working knowledge of engineering fundamentals, drafting standards, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and written/verbal communication.
• A team mindset with the ability to work independently when needed.
• Commitment to environmental and safety considerations in design and fabrication.
