Job Title: DevOps Engineer

Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Onsite)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise DevOps platforms, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and Kubernetes environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in automation, cloud technologies, GitHub Actions, infrastructure as code, and container orchestration while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve software delivery, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
  • Collaborate with development teams to enable seamless application integration and continuous delivery.
  • Build and support Kubernetes-based deployment platforms and containerized applications.
  • Develop reusable DevOps frameworks, automation solutions, and infrastructure-as-code implementations.
  • Monitor, optimize, and improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and availability.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and production issues while driving root cause analysis and long-term improvements.
  • Implement cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
  • Define Git repository standards, branching strategies, and DevOps governance practices.
  • Partner with Security and Architecture teams to implement security best practices and ensure compliance.
  • Lead release readiness activities, post-release reviews, and incident response improvements.
  • Mentor junior DevOps engineers and promote DevOps best practices across engineering teams.
  • Document infrastructure configurations, deployment processes, and operational procedures.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the DevOps ecosystem.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
  • Proficiency in scripting using Python, Bash, or Shell.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
  • Strong understanding of Git workflows, repository management, and version control.
  • Knowledge of networking, security, and environment management.
  • Experience troubleshooting production environments and improving platform reliability.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing enterprise-scale DevOps platforms and shared services.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps architecture, automation, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive enterprise DevOps initiatives.
  • Experience implementing AI-assisted development or DevOps automation is a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
