The Stark County Park District is looking for a talented Development Supervisor toidentify, define and develop funding sources to support existing and future planned Stark County Park Districts' projects and programs. Coordinates development, writing and submission of grant proposals and reports data on funded activities to third party entities. Works closely with Friends of Stark Parks (FOSP) and Quail Hollow Volunteer Association (QHVA) to organize successful fundraising efforts. Administers membership and annual appeal drives for FOSP.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports Executive Director in creating and implementing plan to secure funding for the park district that moves the park district's goals forward.

  • Responsible for generating revenues for Stark Parks programs and services through timely submission of well researched, well written, and well documented grant proposals.

  • Research, identify, and develop new funding opportunities for Stark Parks. Respond to public and private grant sources and opportunities to secure new funding.

  • Effectively gather, interpret and use a variety of research information, analyzes diverse data from multiple sources (internal and external) to draw appropriate conclusions while documenting and implementing grant proposals.

  • Completes grant reporting duties, including but not limited to, collecting, analyzing, and reporting of data for program/project activities currently funded to third party public and private sources.

  • Responsible for creating and implementing a grant tracking system and follow up process to ensure effective grant research, writing, implementation, and follow up methods.

  • Management skills and strong business acumen, including problem solving, vision, ability to manage multiple programs and meet deadlines, collaboration, leadership, decision making and ability to analyze diverse facts and develop clear and concise reports and recommendations.

  • Maintains good working relationships and works with various private, public, community, professional and governmental agencies to create appropriate and successful partnerships leading to increased and continued financial support.

  • Responsible for supporting FOSP and QHVA successful fundraising events by working closely with Stark Parks staff and Friends of Stark Parks members to create efforts in line with Stark Parks values.

  • Monitors the administration of successful Friends of Stark Parks and QHVA memberships and annual appeal drives including but not limited coordination, incentive set up, identifying appropriate population targets, mailing, tracking.

  • Works closely with marketing team to ensure proper branding strategies pertaining to Stark Parks and Friends of Stark Parks. Provides insight and needed event information to marketing team for appropriate design and distribution of various pamphlets, brochures, invites, etc.

  • Develops, updates, maintains and oversees a variety of donation programs including but not limited to bench and amenities programs, facility naming and donation privilege programs, park swings, benches, etc. Ensures proper creation, tracking and administration of plaque and similar agreements outlining donor and Park responsibilities over the life of the donation/amenity.

  • Serves as liaison to FSP, QHVA to assist in the implementation, and management of fundraising activities including annual giving; endowment and capital campaigns, memberships and special events

  • Manage CRM database (Bloomerang) and oversee the record-keeping, files, gift processing, pledges and memberships, and maintain acknowledgement programs. Monitor all donor information; provide and present donor reports to departments and board(s).

  • Responsible for management of Development Associate to assist in grant writing, the processing of donations, memberships, sponsorships, assistance with events and other duties with the Development Department.

  • Support and attend special events as needed and all other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure created by tight time constraints
  • Strong organizational, writing and analytical skills
  • Expert level Microsoft Office Suite skills

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in English, Writing, Business Administration, or related field and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant grant writing and grant administration experience required. Five (5) years of internal and external event organization, including fundraising events required. Minimum of One (1) year of supervisory experience required.

Starting Pay: $56,529.60

Must be eligible for employment in the United States. Pre-employment background check and drug screening will be performed.
