Development Officer, Major Gifts
The Development Officer, Major Gifts is responsible for managing a portfolio of donors and prospects and advancing philanthropic support for Holy Cross Health. This position focuses on the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals capable of making significant charitable investments that support organizational priorities.
The Development Officer builds and strengthens relationships with donors, grateful patients, physicians, executives, board members, and community leaders. Through strategic donor engagement and relationship management, this role develops individualized fundraising strategies that align donor interests with the mission and priorities of Holy Cross Health.
In addition to securing major gifts, the Development Officer incorporates planned giving opportunities into donor conversations when appropriate and works collaboratively to advance legacy giving commitments in support of the long-term sustainability of Holy Cross Health.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of four years of progressively responsible fundraising, development, experience.
- Demonstrated success in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors, clients, or major accounts.
- Experience managing a prospect or customer portfolio and achieving measurable goals.
- Knowledge of major gift fundraising principles required.
- Familiarity with planned giving concepts, including bequests, beneficiary designations, charitable gift annuities, and other deferred giving vehicles preferred.
- Blackbaud donor database experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
