Position Overview:

As a Desktop Supp Analyst at Galen College of Nursing, you will provide world-class intermediate technical assistance and support to Galen College of Nursing end users. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of technical support, Active Directory, Windows device management, Mac and iOS support, and network printer management. This candidate will also be responsible for inventory management and hardware recycling. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. First-line resolution: Identify and diagnose user issues related to hardware, software, network connectivity, and peripherals.
  2. Application support: Assist users with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting common applications (e.g., Office suite, email client, antivirus, collaboration tools).
  3. User account management: Create, manage, and disable user accounts in Active Directory, ensuring adherence to company security policies
  4. Password resets: Assist users with password resets and account lockouts, maintaining a secure password reset process.
  5. New user setup: Configure new employee devices with necessary software, accounts, and security settings.
  6. Image deployment: Maintain and deploy standardized system images for consistent configuration across devices.
  7. Troubleshoot common issues with macOS and iOS devices, including connectivity, software, and hardware problems.
  8. Assist users with basic Mac and iOS configurations and settings.
  9. Set up new network printers and configure user access permissions.
  10. Troubleshoot printing issues, such as paper jams, connectivity problems, and driver conflicts.
  11. Maintain accurate records of all IT hardware and peripherals.
  12. Track device lifecycles and schedule replacements.
  13. Participate in IT projects and initiatives as assigned.
  14. Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and industry trends.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree and technical training in the IT field.
  •  Special Qualifications:
    • 3+ years of experience in an IT desktop support role.
    • Intermittent knowledge of Office 365 Administration, Scripting (e.g. powershell ), Active Directory, Windows device setups, troubleshooting, and hardware replacements.
    • Experience troubleshooting macOS and iOS devices.
    • Experience with network printers.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Demonstrates a customer orientation, strength in analytical, math, and reasoning skills
    • Ability to be creative and innovative in a complex technical environment
    • Competent in the latest Windows and Microsoft Office suite of products
    • Demonstrated ability to prepare and maintain documentation
    • Demonstrated ability to provide advanced desktop hardware and software support
    • Understanding of HTTP, TCP/IP, and related protocols
    • Certification in a relevant field, such as A+ or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).
  •  Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment: This position requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Work is performed in an office environment. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations.
  •  Degree of Supervision: Minimal
