Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly and professional Desk Attendant to join our team. The Desk Attendant is responsible to the Resident Manager of the property to which you are assigned. The Desk Attendant is responsible to protect the property of the owners and call for assistance to residents when requested, i.e. HEMSI, family, etc.
Responsibilities:
• Present at the Front Desk after office hours daily, weekends, and holidays;
• Sign visitors in and out of building;
• Be familiar with all safety procedures and be able to respond and carry out procedures at the time of an emergency:
Fire Alarm
Fire Department
HEMSI
Boiler/Chiller malfunction
Police
Utility Company
• Lock entryways at 9:00 p.m.;
• Open doors for residents and visitors after doors are locked;
• Vacuum entryway, office, and elevators at the end of each shift and whenever necessary;
• Empty trash containers of office at the end of each shift;
• Keep office counters clean;
• Empty inside dumpster into outside dumpster at the end of each shift on weekends and holidays (Night Desk Attendant will empty dumpster each morning);
• Observe parking lot for unauthorized parking and questionable activities and call police when necessary;
• Desk Attendant will walk each corridor hourly to check security of building;
• Report any incidents to the Resident Manager;
• Answer telephones, take accurate messages, and ensure messages are delivered in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Education and or experience in the field of security
Able to generate incident and other reports as requestedPrevious experience as a front desk agent or in a customer service role is preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and handle a high-volume workload
Proficiency with computer systems and software, such as Microsoft Office and reservation management systems
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
