This role supports both special customer orders and new product development by working closely with engineers to produce high-quality CAD designs and accurate bills of material. The Mechanical Designer plays a key role in ensuring product designs meet specifications, are manufacturable, and are delivered on schedule to support business and customer needs.

  • Develop 3D models and detailed drawings for new product development initiatives
  • Design sheet metal parts and assemblies for production
  • Produce and interpret basic electrical diagrams
  • Maintain and update existing product documentation, including design improvements and drawing revisions
  • Collaborate with production personnel to clarify drawings and ensure products are built to specifications
  • Cross-functionally partner with Purchasing, Sales, and Production Planning teams
  • Manage assigned projects to ensure completion within established timelines
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product design and documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

  • Associate or Technical Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in product design within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling) and AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Preferred:

  • Experience with MAPICS or similar MRP/ERP systems
