The Taste Business Unit partners with customers to create memorable sensory experiences, combining deep technical expertise, consumer insights, and creative product design to deliver impactful solutions across categories.

This Designer, Dairy Applications role is based on-site in South Brunswick, NJ, requiring daily presence in the lab and pilot plant. You will be part of a collaborative, solution-oriented, and growth-focused team where your technical expertise and creativity will directly support customer success.

Where You'll Make a Difference

  • Independently manage assigned projects, timelines, and priorities to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Develop structured work plans to support efficient project execution and resource utilization.
  • Design finished product formulations using IFF technologies while meeting industrial standards and country-specific requirements related to profile, legality, cost, and stability.
  • Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support for unusual or complex formulation challenges.
  • Execute projects for key local, strategic, and regional customers with a focus on commercial success.
  • Refine and clearly articulate taste and texture attributes with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of ingredients, materials, and processing relevant to dairy product design.
  • Contribute to new concept generation and support must-win and high-impact projects through cross-functional collaboration

What Makes You the Right Fit

  • Minimum of five years of experience in the industrial food, ingredient, or flavor industry, plus at least two years in a relevant area of technical expertise.
  • University or college degree in Food Science and Technology or a related discipline such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biology.
  • Strong understanding of ingredient functionality and flavor performance across different finished dairy products.
  • Proven ability to work independently while contributing effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience collaborating with Sales, Marketing, Flavorists, Product Excellence, Regulatory Affairs, and other technical partners.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear recommendations.
  • Well-developed organizational and project-management skills in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time to support customer trials, troubleshooting, and project execution.

  • Master's degree in Food Science or a related field.
  • Experience supporting customer plant trials, troubleshooting, or technical training activities.
  • Familiarity with innovation processes and contributing to technical documentation or solutions literature.
