Must Have:
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD/Design Engineering.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
  • Experience with building, assembling, and modifying prototypes.
  • Experience executing mechanical and functional testing on components and assemblies.
  • Ability to document test methods, results, and observations with high accuracy.
  • Capability to collaborate with a cross-functional technical/engineering team to troubleshoot design issues.
  • Support design verification and validation activities.
  • Advanced understanding of Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) and Design-for-Assembly (DFA).
  • Experience with lab equipment (force gauges, torque tools, environmental testing, etc.).
  • Understanding and application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Nice to Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Exposure to regulated environments (medical device, aerospace, etc.).
  • Familiarity with PLM system or document control processes.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
  • Design components or portions of systems and modify existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing and field service operations.
  • Utilize computer-aided design software such as Creo or Solidworks.
  • Coordinate design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups, considering ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
Technician Support Career Stream:
Provide technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement, or product development. Use schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment, or systems. Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data using established procedures. For higher levels, may suggest and/or make improvements to optimize work processes.
Differentiating Factors:
  • Autonomy: Seasoned individual contributor, working under limited supervision, and providing assistance and training to lower-level employees. Runs minor projects, including performing tests, interpreting data, and developing reports.
  • Organizational Impact: Performs technical activities requiring considerable judgment and may have ownership of minor projects. Work consists of technical tasks that are typically not routine.
  • Innovation and Complexity: Technical problems faced are general and may require some analysis to understand and resolve. Expected to independently propose solutions to problems for cross-functional review.
  • Communication and Influence: Communicates typically with internal contacts. Obtains and provides technical information on matters of moderate importance to the job area.
  • Leadership and Talent Management: Responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within the job area.
  • Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires complete and broad knowledge of operational systems, techniques, and practices typically gained through extensive experience and/or education. Requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience;may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.
