An international manufacturer in Lawrenceville, GA, is seeking an experienced Design & Process Engineer to join its team on a direct-hire basis.

$90,000 – $95,000 | Monday – Friday

What You'll Do

As the Design & Process Engineer, you will plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes and equipment to produce high-quality products and components.

  • Establish process conditions for new products and revise existing manufacturing processes
  • Troubleshoot issues with molding processes, materials, and equipment
  • Analyze data to identify improvement opportunities and optimize manufacturing operations
  • Train process technicians in scientific molding practices
  • Maintain mold process sheets and document design iterations, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance measures
  • Program robots and peripheral equipment
  • Lead cross-functional project teams for new product introduction, continuous improvement, and nonconformance resolution
  • Develop manufacturing processes and tools to meet contractual, program, design, and quality requirements
  • Create engineering documentation, including models, drawings, routings, testing specifications, reports, and work instructions
  • Disposition of manufacturing non-conformances and determine root causes and corrective actions
  • Meet with customers to define needs and develop solutions
  • Co-develop cost estimates for new process implementation and manufacturing quotes
  • Participate in design, manufacturing, and test documentation reviews

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of injection mold structure and mechanical movements
  • Knowledge of plastic polymers
  • Proficient at reading, analyzing, and interpreting customer drawings, specifications, and standards
  • Proficient with computer systems; CAD experience (SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Project management experience with a proven track record of organizing and scheduling effectively
  • Knowledge of 6 Sigma, 8D processes, Lean, or similar methodologies
  • Knowledge of Thermoset or BMC Molding processes preferred
  • Machining, press/forming, welding, brazing, heat-treat, or inspection experience
  • Die, tool, fixture, and gage design experience 
  • Aerospace industry experience, minimum 3 years 
  • Experience optimizing high mix / low volume production 
  • Sheet metal experience
