Position Overview

We are seeking a Design Engineer to support the development and optimization of innovative product lines, including ceiling systems and containment assemblies. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented engineer who thrives in a collaborative, manufacturing-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Process Design

• Develop and refine engineering designs for both new and existing products
• Create detailed 3D models and production-ready drawings using SolidWorks, Onshape, or similar CAD platforms
• Apply design best practices to improve manufacturability and efficiency

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and certifications (e.g., CISCA, ISO 9001)
• Participate in product testing and validation to confirm structural integrity and airflow performance
• Adapt designs to meet customer-specific requirements

Collaboration & Communication

• Partner with sales, project management, and installation teams to translate client needs into manufacturable solutions
• Participate in design reviews and value engineering efforts to enhance product performance and cost-efficiency

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing design engineering, preferably within building products, modular systems, or structural steel fabrication
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Onshape, or similar 3D CAD tools
• Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Experience with metal forming, welding, and assembly processes
• Solid knowledge of DFMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly) principles

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Ladson, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
