Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, specifically Siemens NX.

Exposure to turbomachinery including airfoils, disks, and shafts.

Possesses a practical understanding of manufacturing processes and has experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM).

Ability to create a design layout, assign component tolerances, and perform tolerance stacks.

Able to trade component material options based on material properties and component application.

Ability to make technical presentations internally and to customers. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Communicates and interacts effectively with peers, supervisors, and public, including maintaining respect for others, and following company policies.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

BS/MS in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering 3+ years of related experience

General Job Summary:

Designs and analyzes aircraft electrical, mechanical, propulsion, and component structures, systems and processes.

Essential Job Functions:

• Use computer-aided design (CAD) to produce initial design and specifications for gas turbine/rotating machinery components. • Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified aircraft system designs. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integrity from concept to development. • Document changes through a formal engineering change notification process. • Participate in design reviews, solving complex and analytical problems. • Define test requirements and analyze data for engine builds and testing. • Other job duties as assigned.
